The Vietnam Servicemen's Memorial, Washington, DC -- "The Wall" Each year, an estimated 2.9 million people visit "The Wall", many hundreds have left personal mementos: Medals, photographs, letters, and many other items. Each has it's own story, and each is part of our story.
Vietnam Memories is a traveling museum designed to give students an understanding of loss and healing by examining personal objects, photographs, and letters which were left at the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. Visitors enter the exhibit through a teenager's bedroom from the era. Once inside, they find over 250 objects, photographs, and letters selected from the national collection and arranged around a reproduction of a section of the Wall. Students are guided through the exhibit by Vietnam Era Veterans, who continue to serve their country by teaching young people about a painful time in our nation's past.
